Alvin Ray Loftin age 72, went home to be with his Lord on June 5, 2018. He came to the world on June 5, 1946, the eldest of nine children born to the late Rev. Gavin & Christine Loftin. He was preceded in his trip home by his eldest son, Alvin Ray Loftin II; sisters, Debra & Phylis. Alvin was a proud veteran of the United States Army & active member of the William Blair Post of the American Legion. Alvin was a fifty-two year veteran truck dealer, master mason, avid fisherman, hunter and tinker. He was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church and worked atMonteagle Wrecker Service.
He left his precious wife of forty-seven, Ruth Ann in the care of three sons, Devon Ray, Richard Gavin & John Michael Loftin along with his grandchildren, Austin Cooper, Abigail Grace, Alivia Rae, Aiden James, Garrett Rylie & Bailey Christine. Also two wonderful daughters-in-law, Karen (Richard) & Ambrosia Amber (Devon). He had welcomed into our huge family our beloved Kaitlyn, Meary Faye, Dawn Skye Taylor & Andrew Wagen; siblings, Jimmie (Ernestine) Loftin, Joyce (Terry) Mullis, Mickey (Roy) Hollie, Alice Sylvester, Ronald Loftin & Donald Loftin.
Family will receive friends 12PM-3PM, CST, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Jasper Memorial Funeral Home.
