Earlene “Leenie” Singleton passed away on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on March 17th, 1935, to Floyd and Bess (Wilkinson) Singleton in Jackson County Alabama. She worked 28 years at Cutter Laboratories until its closure, then worked another 27 years at Starkey Printing before retiring. She was very active, always going on trips out west and to The Smokies with cousins. She enjoyed cooking holiday meals and trying out new recipes on her nieces and nephews. Her passion was sewing clothes for her nieces and quilting for the family. Having no children of her own, she became a second mother to her nieces and nephews, who she dedicated much of her life to. Her family came first!
She was proceeded in death by her parents Floyd and Bess, twin brother Earl (Dalphna) Singleton, and niece Lisa Singleton.
She is survived by her brother Don & Roberta Singleton. Nieces. Kathy (Dewayne) Cox, Beverly (Billy) Silvers, Stacy (Chris) Chambers, and Michelle (Kevin) Dunlap. Nephews; Edwin (Debbie) Singleton, Wendell (Phyllis) Singleton, Mark (Tammie) Barham, and sister in-law Betty Biddle.18 great nieces and nephews and 26 great-great nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A grave-side service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 25 @ 1:00pm at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
