It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Howard Wilson, who left us peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 86. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, George’s legacy of love and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on April 4, 1939, to the late James T. Wilson and Ethel Wilson, George was a lifelong resident of the community, where he built a family and friendships that would span decades. For 56 years, he was the loving and supportive husband to Jessie Wilson, with whom he shared a deep, unwavering bond. Together, they raised a beautiful family who will forever cherish his memory.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Jessie; children, James (Marissa) Wilson of Pikeville, David (Michelle) Wilson of Jasper, Kim (Dell) Meeks of Tracy City, and Linda Brown (Jake Gordon)  of Ooltewah. He was also the proud grandfather of Brandy (Mason) Christopher, Kevin Wilson, Jeff Mines, Jessica Wilson, Logan Wilson, Marlee (Caleb) Daniels, Cameron Wilson, Cali Stewart, Josh Meeks, and Christopher Meeks.

George was preceded in death by his father, James T. Wilson, and his mother, Ethel Wilson.

George was known for his quiet strength, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his deep love for his family. His presence was a constant source of comfort and joy to those around him. Whether it was through his warm smile, his clever wit, or his steadfast support, George always made those who were lucky enough to know him feel valued and cared for.

A lover of nature, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, and was a man who found peace in simple moments. He was never far from a good conversation, a laugh, or a thoughtful piece of advice for his children and grandchildren.

George’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will forever be cherished. A memorial service will be held in his honor, and the family asks that you remember George by living each day with kindness and love, as he did.
