James Alan Brock was born October 19, 1956 in Akron, Ohio to parents Richard and Lois Brock. Jim was the youngest of three children behind his sister Debi (h. Milton) Tinis, and brother Don (w. Billie) Brock. Jim's family relocated to Orlando, Florida where he grew up loving everything about Florida including fishing, boating, waterskiing (even becoming a water ski instructor at Walt Disney World), and working on cars being especially fond of his 1970 Dodge Super Bee. Jim maintained a lifelong love of anything "cowboy", from the classic TV westerns to his cherished cowboy boots.
Jim was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1977 and became a full time 'pioneer' for several years; speaking to others about Jehovah God's Kingdom and the blessings this kingdom would soon bring to mankind through God's son Jesus Christ. Jim continued to talk with people about the bible's hope for the rest of his life.
Jim was married October 15, 1983 to Lynda ( Shaeffer). They met at the Conway Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses where, after a brief conversation, he was delighted to learn she had a gocart with a broken engine...his specialty. When he came to repair the engine he was smitten as he came to find out she had a better set of tools than him; thus started 35 years of enjoying many projects and hobbies together.
Jim worked hard to become a journeyman (master) electrician, belonging to the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) both in Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida. This trade aided him in being able to help others through disaster relief and building Kingdom Halls throughout Florida. Jim always availed himself to help in the smallest ways and was known for his giving and loving spirit.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Lynda, his brother and sister and their spouses, his extended family including many nieces and nephews, and by all the loving friends he has made through his 41 years serving Jehovah.
Family will receive friends 1:30 Sunday, Dec 16, 2018 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness with Minister Michael Windsor officiating.
