James “Jim” Gordon Carter, age 70, of South Pittsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, August 22, 2022.  He was an Army and Air Force Veteran.  Jim loved to make people laugh and was an avid guitar player and singer. 

He is preceded in death by his father, George R. Carter, sister-in-law, Willodean Carter.

Those left to cherish his memories are his fiancé, Carolyn Miller Frye; mother, Ruby Carter; brother, Dewey Carter; nieces, Misty (Kevin) May and Christy Baker; nephew, Dewey (Jennifer) Odell; grand nieces, Lauren May, Kaylee Steele, and Alexandra Odell; grand nephews, Camden May and Colin Odell; cousins and caregivers, Angel (Bear) Wynne and Josh (Ashley) Sitz; several cousins and a host of friends. 

Family will receive friends 4-6PM, Saturday, August 27, 2022.

Memorial service will be 6PM, Saturday, August 27, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Ronnie Case officiating.
