James E. Reed, Sr.

James E. Reed, Sr. age 82 of south Pittsburg passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Reed; son, Jimmy Reed; stepdaughter, Nancy Bryant; siblings, Mary Lee Wileman, William Reed, Austin Reed, George Newton Reed, John Reed & Paul Reed, Jr.; grandchildren, Isaac Hamilton, Robbie Bryant & Jason Plummer. James worked for M & M Transfer for several years and served as Mayor, Alderman & Fire Chief of New Hope.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Patricia (Jonathan) Caldwell of New Hope and Evelyn Reed of South Pittsburg; stepchildren, Danny (Sandy) Reed of Whitwell, Marie Henderson of Chattanooga & Gary Wingfield of Chickamauga; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends 2PM-8PM, Saturday, November 21, 2020

Funeral Service 2PM, Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Arland Weldon officiating. Interment to follow at New Hope Cemetery.
