Juanita Latishia Cook Smith, 86, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on September 7th, 2024. She was born on September 24th, 1937, in Dekalb County Alabama
to the late Johnny and Maudie Cook.
Juanita retired from Olan Mills where she worked for 34 years. She was an avid member of Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening. She loved to cook for her family. She always loved traveling. Even more than all the little joys of life, she loved spending time with her family more than anything. Her time spent with her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren was the absolute highlight of her days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Maudie Cook and brothers, Laverl, William, and Kendall Cook.
Survivors include husband, of 67 years, Charles Smith. Sister Johnnie White. Three children Rick (Regina), Randy (Denise), and Danny (Crystal) Smith. Six grandchildren Olivia (Alex), Jillian (Forrest), Ian, Will (Chelsey), Devan (Austin) and Paige. Two great grandchildren Lucien and Braylon.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga, with a special thanks to Jessica Benson and Kristy Hunt. They would also like to express a special appreciation for the caregivers, Margie Johnson, Amy Berkley, and Arlene Moore.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10th at 1:00 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Funeral Home on Brown’s Ferry Road, with
brother Steve Evans officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 to 1:00. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens – West.
