Ruby Elizabeth Carter, 95, of Sweeden`s Cove passed away on June 19, 2025. Ruby was of the Baptist faith and was a firm believer in God`s word. She was an expert seamstress and made countless quilts and hand sewn works of art for her friends and family. She was a military wife and was able to travel and live in Alaska, Germany, and Texas, although Sweeden`s Cove Community was her home.
She is preceded in death by her husband George R. Carter, son James G Carter, parents Francis B Sitz and Martha Rector Sitz, brothers William " Tubby" Sitz, Charles Kenneth Sitz, infant brother Walter Sitz, as well as daughter in law Willodean Carter.
She is survived by her son Dewey F. Carter, sister Margie Hood, brothers: Hershel Ray Sitz, John E. Sitz, Ralph B. Sitz, and Willard J. Sitz; grandchildren Dewey(Jennifer), Christy, Misty(Kevin), great-grandchildren Alexandra, Colin, Camden, Lauren, Kaylee, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family would like to thank NHC of Dunlap and Hospice of Chattanooga for the care and compassion their teams have shown to Ms. Carter.
